HP Limited Hardware Warranty

Limited warranty period

This HP Limited Hardware Warranty provides you, the customer, with express limited warranty rights from HP, the manufacturer, for the duration specified on the product description page and/or in the HP Limited Warranty Statement that shipped with the product. HP may offer 90 days of limited telephone technical support at no cost. Thereafter, an additional service fee may be charged for HP telephone support; however, other support methods, such as chat, the HP Support website, or contacting your HP dealer or HP service provider, will remain available at no cost throughout the duration of this HP Limited Warranty. See the product description page for the applicable products and/or the HP Limited Warranty Statement that shipped with your product.

GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

This HP Limited Warranty provides the end-user with express limited warranty rights from HP, the manufacturer. Please refer to the HP website for a detailed description of your rights under this HP Limited Warranty. If you have a separate written agreement with HP, you may have other statutory rights that are not excluded, limited, or waived by this HP Limited Warranty. See the "Country-Specific Terms" of this HP Limited Warranty for more information about your rights.

This HP Limited Warranty applies only to HP and Compaq hardware products, including HP printing supplies (collectively referred to in this HP Limited Warranty as "HP Hardware Products"), purchased or leased from HP Inc., its worldwide subsidiaries (collectively referred to in this HP Limited Warranty as "HP"), affiliates, authorized dealers, authorized distributors, or national resellers with this HP Limited Warranty. The term "HP Hardware Product" is limited to the hardware components and required firmware. The term "HP Hardware Product" does not include software applications or programs, or any products or peripherals from other manufacturers. To the extent permitted by applicable law, any products or peripherals from other manufacturers that are not part of the HP Hardware Product, such as external storage subsystems, monitors, printers, or other peripherals, are provided "AS IS" and are not covered by this HP Limited Warranty. However, manufacturers or vendors other than HP may offer their own warranties. HP peripherals or other HP products not covered by this HP Limited Warranty may be covered by the HP Limited Warranty for that peripheral or HP product. Your rights and obligations are described in the HP Limited Warranty for that product.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, HP warrants, at its sole discretion, to repair, replace, or refund an HP Hardware Product that proves to be defective in materials or workmanship during the Limited Warranty Period if, as an end-user customer, you notify HP of such a defect in your HP Hardware Product within the Limited Warranty Period. HP's obligation under this HP Limited Warranty to repair, replace, or refund, at its sole discretion, an HP Hardware Product that proves to be defective in materials or workmanship terminates upon the expiration of the HP Limited Warranty.

The HP Limited Warranty period begins on the date of purchase or lease of HP hardware products, or, if applicable, on the date HP or the HP authorized service provider completes installation, whichever is later. The sales or delivery receipt showing the date of purchase or lease of the applicable HP hardware product will serve as proof of purchase or lease date unless you receive written information to the contrary from HP or the reseller. Such proof may be required to obtain warranty service. The warranty service described here is equivalent to the basic warranty. You may have received your HP hardware product with an extended basic warranty. For the latest warranty information, contact HP or visit HP.com. For HP color cartridges, warranty coverage continues until the HP ink is depleted or the end of the warranty period is reached, whichever occurs first. For HP printheads, coverage continues until the end of the warranty period or the limited warranty period expires, whichever occurs first. For HP LaserJet print cartridges, coverage continues until the limited warranty period expires.

Some countries or regions do not allow the following exclusions or limitations, so these exclusions or limitations may not apply to you.

HP MAKES NO OTHER WARRANTY, WRITTEN OR ORAL, AND EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ALL WARRANTIES AND REMEDIES NOT STATED IN THIS HP LIMITED WARRANTY. THE FOREGOING WARRANTY IS EXCLUSIVE TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW. NO OTHER WARRANTIES ARE MADE, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. FOR ALL PURCHASES IN THE U.S.A., ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY, QUALITY, AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE IS LIMITED TO THE DURATION OF THE ABOVE STATUTORY WARRANTY. SOME STATES OR REGIONS DO NOT ALLOW LIMITATIONS ON HOW LONG AN IMPLIED WARRANTY OR CONDITION LASTS, OR THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF CERTAIN TYPES OF DAMAGES, SUCH AS INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES FOR CONSUMER PRODUCTS. IN SUCH STATES OR COUNTRIES, SOME EXCLUSIONS, DISCLAIMERS, OR LIMITATIONS OF THIS HP LIMITED WARRANTY MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU. TO THE EXTENT THAT ALL OR A PORTION OF THIS HP LIMITED WARRANTY IS INCOMPATIBLE WITH APPLICABLE LAW, THIS HP LIMITED WARRANTY OR THAT PORTION WILL BE CONSTRUED AS IF MODIFIED IN ACCORDANCE WITH LOCAL LAW.

FOR SALES TRANSACTIONS, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, IN THE EUROPEAN UNION, AUSTRALIA, AND NEW ZEALAND: TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE WARRANTY TERMS CONTAINED IN THIS STATEMENT DO NOT EXCLUDE, LIMIT, OR MODIFY, BUT EXPAND, THE MANDATORY STATUTORY RIGHTS APPLICABLE TO THE SALE OF THIS HP HARDWARE PRODUCT TO YOU.

This HP Limited Warranty is valid and honored in all countries and regions where HP or its authorized service providers offer warranty service for the product model covered by this HP Limited Warranty. This HP Limited Warranty is subject to all applicable national import and export laws and regulations. Under this HP Limited Warranty, HP hardware products purchased in one country or region may be transferred to other countries or regions where warranty service is available from HP or its authorized service providers for that product model. Warranty service requirements, availability of service, and response times may vary from country to country. Response time for standard warranty service may vary due to local parts availability. If parts are not available, an HP authorized service provider can provide additional information. HP will not alter the form, fitness, or function of any HP hardware product for use in a country for which the product was not intended. HP is not responsible for any fees or import duties incurred in transferring products. The export of the Products may be subject to all applicable export and import laws, regulations and controls of various governments.

In countries or regions where applicable law requires that warranty service for imported products be offered by the local importer, or where applicable law does not require that warranty service for imported products be offered by the manufacturer, all warranty service for HP products in such countries will be offered exclusively by the importer and not by HP, unless the local importer has been explicitly authorized by HP or its local subsidiary to import the products and HP has agreed to assume warranty service.

You are entitled to hardware warranty service in accordance with the terms and conditions in this document if your HP hardware product requires repair due to a defect in materials or workmanship that occurs within the HP Limited Warranty Period. HP will, at its sole discretion, repair, replace, or refund the amount paid for an HP hardware product that develops a defect in materials or workmanship during the HP Limited Warranty Period if HP receives notification of such a defect from you, the end-user customer, within the Limited Warranty Period. Unless otherwise specified and to the extent permitted by applicable law, new HP hardware products may be constructed from new materials or new and used materials that are functionally equivalent to new materials in performance and reliability. To the extent permitted by applicable law, (a) HP hardware products submitted for repair may be replaced with refurbished HP hardware products of the same type in lieu of repair, and (b) refurbished parts may be used to repair HP hardware products. (c) Replaced or repaired HP Hardware Products will be functionally equivalent in performance and reliability to original discontinued HP Hardware Products. If such replaced or repaired HP Hardware Products or parts prove defective in materials or workmanship (1) within ninety (90) days of their repair and/or replacement, or (2) during the remainder of the HP Limited Warranty period for the HP Hardware Product they replace or in which they were installed, HP warrants, unless expressly required by applicable law, to repair or replace such HP Hardware Products or parts.

Any components or hardware products replaced under this HP Limited Warranty become the property of HP, unless otherwise provided by applicable law. In the unlikely event that your HP Hardware Product experiences repeated failure, or HP determines that the HP Hardware Product cannot be repaired or replaced, HP may, at its sole discretion, provide you with (a) a replacement unit selected by HP with the same or equivalent features and performance, or (b) refund or credit the purchase price or lease payments (less interest) in lieu of a replacement unit. To the extent permitted by applicable law, this is your exclusive remedy for defective products under the HP Limited Warranty.

Some countries or regions do not allow the above exclusion or limitation, so this exclusion or limitation may not apply to you.

Any dispute arising out of this HP Limited Warranty or relating to the purchase of HP hardware products covered by this HP Limited Warranty, whether based in contract, tort, fraud, or any other legal theory, will be governed by the laws of the country, region, state, federal province, or territory in which you currently reside, excluding conflicts of law principles.

    1. by accident, misuse, spillage, misuse, contamination, improper or inadequate maintenance or calibration, or other external causes
    2. by operating outside the usage parameters described in the documentation provided with the HP hardware product
    3. through the use of software, interfaces, parts or accessories not supplied by HP
    4. due to inadequate site preparation, maintenance, or unsuitable environmental conditions that do not comply with HP site specifications
    5. by viruses, worms, or similar malicious software code not introduced by HP
    6. due to loss or damage during transport
    7. by modification or service by anyone other than HP or HP service providers, or

Any HP hardware product found to be overclocked after shipment by HP is excluded from the terms of this Limited Warranty, except for damaged or defective components determined to be unrelated to overclocking.

HP assumes no responsibility for interoperability or compatibility issues that may occur in the following cases:

  1. Non-HP supported products, software, or options are used.
  2. Configurations not supported by HP are used.
  3. Parts intended for one system have been installed in a system of a different make or model.

You should regularly back up the data stored on your hard drive or other storage media as a precaution against possible hardware or software failure, alteration, or loss of data. Before returning an HP hardware product for repair, be sure that you have backed up all data and removed all confidential, private, or proprietary information. To the extent permitted by applicable law, HP is not liable for damage to or loss of programs, data, or removable media. To the extent permitted by applicable law, HP is not responsible for restoring or reinstalling programs or software. HP is solely responsible for any loss or damage to the data, except for software pre-installed by HP and subject to applicable updates. Any stored data may be lost during repair.

    Product-specific exclusions

    Rechargeable batteries

The HP Hardware Product may contain an internal rechargeable battery that is inaccessible to the user and must be replaced by HP or an HP-authorized service provider. The internal rechargeable battery is covered by this HP Limited Warranty as a standard component of the HP Hardware Product for the same period of time, unless otherwise specified in this HP Limited Warranty.

The HP Hardware Product may contain a rechargeable battery that can be removed and replaced by the user. HP warrants to provide a replacement battery if the battery proves to be defective in materials or workmanship during the one-year period from the date of purchase of the HP Hardware Product in which the battery is installed, unless otherwise stated in this HP Limited Warranty.

As with all batteries, the maximum capacity of any battery installed in an HP hardware product will decrease over time or use, and battery cycle life will vary depending on the product model, configuration, loaded applications, features, usage, wireless capabilities, and power management settings. Accordingly, a reduction in maximum battery capacity or a shortening of battery cycle life does not constitute a defect in materials or workmanship, and this HP Limited Warranty does not cover any changes in battery capacity or cycle life. Except as otherwise provided in this HP Limited Warranty, to the extent permitted by applicable law, the battery is only warranted for defects in materials or workmanship that result from the battery's failure to function during the limited warranty period specified above, or in the event that the battery's cycle life exceeds its rated cycle count, whichever occurs first. You may need to run HP diagnostics to determine if your battery's failure is covered by the warranty.

    HP printing products

In general, the use of non-HP branded or refilled cartridges will not affect the HP Limited Warranty for the end-user customer of the printer or the HP support services provided to the end-user customer. However, if the failure or damage to the printer or printhead results from the use of a non-HP branded or refilled cartridge, HP will charge standard time and materials fees to repair the printer failure or damage, or the cost to replace the printhead. In addition to other exclusions stated in this warranty, for HP color cartridges and HP LaserJet supplies, this HP Limited Warranty does not apply to products that have been refilled, remanufactured, reconditioned, or tampered with in any way. This HP Limited Warranty applies to HP color cartridges, printheads, and HP LaserJet print cartridges when used in the intended HP or Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) printing devices.

    Exclusive claim

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LOCAL LAW, THESE TERMS CONSTITUTE THE COMPLETE AND EXCLUSIVE WARRANTY AGREEMENT BETWEEN YOU AND HP WITH RESPECT TO THE HP HARDWARE PRODUCT YOU HAVE PURCHASED OR LEASED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THESE TERMS SUPERSEDE ANY PRIOR AGREEMENTS, ANNOUNCEMENTS, OR OTHER STATEMENTS, INCLUDING STATEMENTS IN HP SALES LITERATURE OR MADE BY HP OR HP. ADVICE GIVEN TO YOU BY AN HP AGENT OR EMPLOYEE, OR BY A NON-HP AGENT OR EMPLOYEE IN CONNECTION WITH THE PURCHASE OR LEASE OF THE HP HARDWARE PRODUCT, UNLESS IT IS PART OF A SEPARATE WRITTEN AGREEMENT WITH HP OR ITS AUTHORIZED RESELLER. No modification of the terms of this HP Limited Warranty will be valid unless in writing and signed by an HP authorized representative.

    Limitation of liability

Some countries, states, or regions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of implied warranties or the limitation of special, incidental, or consequential damages (set forth below), so these limitations and exclusions may not apply to you. The following limitations apply to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law. In the event that HP, at its sole discretion, provides you with a refund or a product replacement card for use at HP.COM, HP's maximum liability under this HP Limited Warranty is expressly limited to the price you paid for the HP hardware product. EXCEPT AS PROVIDED ABOVE, IN NO EVENT WILL HP BE LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF THE HP HARDWARE PRODUCT OR THE FAILURE OF THE HP HARDWARE PRODUCT TO FUNCTION, INCLUDING LOST PROFITS OR SAVINGS, LOSS OF USE, DATA OR SOFTWARE, COSTS OF RECONSTRUCTING PROGRAM CODE OR PROGRAMS OR DATA STORED IN THE PRODUCT, OR SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES. HP WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIMS MADE BY, OR ACTED BY, ANY THIRD PARTY. HP IS NOT LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES ARISING AS A RESULT OF HP'S FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH ANY OBLIGATIONS UNDER APPLICABLE LAW. THIS LIMITATION OF LIABILITY APPLIES WHETHER THE CLAIM IS BASED ON THIS HP LIMITED WARRANTY OR IN TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE AND STRICT LIABILITY), CONTRACT, OR ANY OTHER THEORY. THIS LIMITATION OF LIABILITY MAY NOT BE WAIVED OR MODIFIED BY ANYONE. THIS LIMITATION OF LIABILITY WILL APPLY EVEN IF YOU HAVE ADVISED HP OR AN HP PARTNER OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. HOWEVER, THIS LIMITATION OF LIABILITY DOES NOT APPLY TO PERSONAL INJURY.

THIS HP LIMITED WARRANTY GIVES YOU SPECIFIC LEGAL RIGHTS. YOU MAY ALSO HAVE OTHER RIGHTS THAT VARY FROM COUNTRY/REGION TO A DETAIL OF YOUR RIGHTS. REFER TO YOUR COUNTRY/REGION'S LAW TO DETERMINE YOUR RIGHTS.

Limited Warranty for HP Options and Accessories

The terms and conditions of the HP Limited Warranty for HP options and accessories (collectively referred to in this HP Limited Warranty as "HP Options") are set forth in the applicable HP Limited Warranty for the applicable HP Option and are shipped with the HP Hardware Product. If your HP Option is installed in an HP Hardware Product, HP will provide warranty service for either the period specified in the warranty documents shipped with the HP Option (the "HP Option Limited Warranty Period") or the remaining warranty period for the HP Hardware Product in which the HP Option is installed, whichever is longer, but not to exceed three (3) years from the date of purchase of the HP Option. The HP Option Limited Warranty Period begins on the date of purchase from HP or an authorized HP reseller. The sales or delivery receipt, which shows the date the HP Option is acquired, indicates the start of the Warranty Period. See the HP Option Limited Warranty for details. To the extent permitted by local law, non-HP options are provided "AS IS." However, such other manufacturers or suppliers may provide their own warranties.

    Screens

    Digital signage screens

This HP Limited Warranty does not cover service for the removal or reinstallation of a wall-mounted or custom-installed digital signage display. This HP Limited Warranty does not cover damage caused by wall-mounting or other custom installation or removal of a display. HP recommends using a qualified installer for wall-mounting or other custom installation or removal of a display. If HP determines that a problem with a digital signage display cannot be resolved remotely, HP will ship a replacement product directly to the customer. HP will cover all shipping and insurance costs by providing a courier to securely package and return the unit to HP. If the customer fails to return the defective product, HP may charge the customer for the replacement product.

    Monitors

None of the monitor models are suitable for applications that display static, stationary, or fixed images. Static images can cause burn-in damage, similar to spots or watermarks on the screen. This HP Limited Warranty does not cover monitors used in applications that display static, stationary, or fixed images for extended periods of time or 24 hours a day, which cause burn-in damage. To prevent burn-in damage, turn off the monitor when not in use or, if supported by your system, use a power management setting to turn off the display when the system is inactive.

Joint warranty for multimedia monitor and PC package

If you purchased a multimedia monitor in a bundled product with a PC (as a single SKU), the warranty period for the multimedia monitor is equal to the warranty period for the PC, to the extent permitted by applicable law. Please refer to the PC's warranty statement for details.

    Customer responsibilities

To avoid the risk of charges for problems not covered by your HP Limited Warranty (problems not resulting from defects in materials and workmanship of HP hardware products), you are asked to assist HP or the HP authorized service provider as follows:

    • When making a warranty claim, provide true, accurate, and complete information
    • Provide an environment that meets HP's requirements, including protecting products from corrosion, contamination, and spills. For example, to meet HP's corrosion protection requirements, the environment must not cause more than 300 angstroms of corrosion to silver and copper per month. 1
    • Verify configurations, load the latest firmware, install software patches, and run HP diagnostics and utilities.
    • Implement temporary procedures or workarounds provided by HP while HP works on permanent solutions.
    • If necessary, utilize HP Support solutions. We strongly recommend that you utilize available support technologies from HP. Failure to utilize available remote support capabilities may result in additional costs due to increased support resource requirements.
    • Work with HP to resolve the issue via online chat, email, or phone. This may include routine diagnostic procedures, installation of additional software updates or patches, removal of third-party options, and/or option replacement.
    • As a precautionary measure against possible defects, alterations, or data loss, HP recommends that you regularly back up files, data, and programs on your hard drive or other storage devices. Before returning an HP hardware product for warranty-covered support or repair, back up all files, data, and programs and delete all confidential and personal information.
    • Remove any external options or accessories that may be lost during repair or replacement.
    • To ensure optimal warranty support, perform the additional tasks for the warranty services that apply to you, as described below, and, to the extent reasonable, any other actions that HP may request you to perform.
    • To make a warranty claim for HP LaserJet print cartridges, return the product to your dealer with a written description of the problem and sample prints, or contact HP Customer Support.

1 HP's requirements are based on those of ISA G1 (mild), as described in ISA-71.04-1985 Environmental Conditions for Process Measurement and Control Systems: Airborne Contaminants. This ISA standard is available at http://www.isa.org . When products are used in ISA G1 (mild) environments, corrosion should not be a factor affecting equipment reliability.

    Hardware warranty service types

The following lists the types of support services covered by the HP Limited Warranty that may apply to the HP hardware product you purchased. Not all services are available in all countries or regions. To the extent that any or all of the following warranty services and provisions are incompatible with applicable law, the warranty services and provisions, or that portion in question, will be interpreted as if modified to conform to applicable law.

    Customer self-repair guarantee service

HP hardware products contain many CSR (Customer Self Repair) parts that can be replaced by the customer. They minimize repair time and provide greater flexibility when replacing defective parts. If HP determines during diagnosis that the problem can be resolved with a CSR part, HP will ship it directly to you so you can perform the replacement yourself. There are two categories of CSR parts:

    • Parts for which Customer Self-Repair is mandatory: If you request that HP or an HP service partner replace such parts, you will be charged travel and labor costs for this service.
    • Parts for which Customer Self-Repair is optional: These parts are also eligible for Customer Self-Repair. However, if you request that HP or an HP service provider replace the part for you, this can be done at no additional charge under the type of warranty service provided for your HP hardware product.

You are encouraged to work with HP or an HP-authorized service provider to resolve the issue via chat, email, or phone. This may include routine diagnostic procedures, installation of software updates or patches, removal of third-party options, and/or option replacement. If assistance is needed, you may contact HP Technical Support, and a technician will assist you via online chat, email, or phone. The HP documentation provided with a CSR replacement part will indicate whether a defective part must be returned to HP, unless otherwise required by applicable law. If the defective part must be returned to HP, you must ship it to HP within a specified time period, normally five (5) to fifteen (15) business days. The defective product must be returned with all accompanying documentation in its original packaging. If you do not return the defective product to HP, HP will charge you for the replacement product. If you perform the repair yourself, HP will cover all shipping and return costs and determine the method of transportation. The classification of CSR parts varies by country and region.

    Extended warranty on replacement units

Your HP Limited Warranty may include Advanced Unit Exchange service. With this service, HP will send you a replacement unit if your HP Hardware Product is diagnosed as defective. Upon receipt of the replacement unit, you may be required to ship the defective HP Hardware Product to HP in the packaging that came with the replacement unit within a specified time period, normally five (5) to fifteen (15) business days. HP will pay the shipping and insurance costs for returning the defective HP Hardware Product to HP. If you do not return the defective HP Hardware Product to HP, you will be billed by HP for the replacement unit. HP offers Advanced Unit Exchange during regular business hours. Regular business hours are typically 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday, but may vary according to local customs. Response times may vary, and additional charges may apply, depending on logistical constraints and distance from the nearest HP service location or authorized HP service provider.

Under the terms of the pick-up-and-return service, HP will pick up the defective HP hardware product from your location, repair it, and return it to your location. HP will cover all repair, shipping, and insurance costs associated with this service.

    Carry-in guarantee service

To the extent permitted by applicable law, your HP Limited Warranty may include carry-in warranty service. Carry-in service requires you to deliver the HP Hardware Product to an authorized HP service provider to perform the repair covered by the HP Limited Warranty. You are responsible for insuring any HP Hardware Product shipped to or returned from an authorized HP service provider and assume the risk of loss during shipment.

    Mail-in warranty service

To the extent permitted by applicable law, this HP Limited Warranty may include mail-in warranty service. Mail-in service requires you to ship the HP Hardware Product to a service provider to have the warranted repair performed. You must prepay any shipping charges, taxes, or fees associated with transporting the HP Hardware Product to the service provider. You are responsible for insuring any HP Hardware Product shipped and also assume the risk of loss during shipment. HP will return the repaired HP Hardware Product to you and pay all shipping and insurance charges.

    Send-In-and-Return Guarantee Service

To the extent permitted by applicable law, your HP Limited Warranty may include send-in-and-return warranty service. Under the terms of the send-in-and-return service, HP will send you, at its own expense, the packaging to ship your HP Hardware Product for service by HP. You are responsible for transportation and insurance for shipping the HP Hardware Product to HP. You may arrange for inbound shipping and related charges with HP. For additional information, including detailed charges and instructions, call 1-800-474-6836 (800-HP-INVENT) in the U.S. or go to http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/wwcontact.html for HP support numbers for other countries. You may also provide your own courier and pay for shipping. If you use your own courier, you are responsible for insuring each HP hardware product you send to the service location and also assume the risk of loss during shipping. HP will repair the HP hardware product and return it to you. HP will cover all repair and shipping costs for the return of the repaired HP hardware product.

    On-site warranty service

Your HP Limited Warranty may include on-site warranty service. Under the terms of on-site service, HP may determine, at its sole discretion, whether a defect in an HP hardware product can be repaired in the following ways:

    • remote
    • by means of an end-user replaceable part (CSR part)
    • by a service call at the location of the defective HP hardware product

If HP ultimately determines that an on-site service visit is necessary to repair the defect, the visit will occur during normal business hours, unless otherwise specified for the HP hardware product you purchased. Normal business hours are typically 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, but may vary according to local customs. Depending on travel restrictions and distance from the nearest HP service location or authorized HP service partner, response times may vary, and additional charges may apply. The telephone numbers and, in some cases, maps for the nearest HP service location or authorized HP service partner can be found on the HP website at http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/wwcontact.html . To receive on-site service, you must:

    • an authorized representative of yours must be present when HP performs warranty service at your location
    • You must notify HP if the HP hardware product is used in an environment that poses a potential health or safety hazard to HP employees or subcontractors
    • HP will be granted sufficient, free and secure access to and use of all facilities, information and systems that HP deems necessary to provide timely support, subject to reasonable HP security requirements
    • ensure that all manufacturer's labels (such as serial numbers) are affixed, accessible and legible
    • the environment complies with the product specifications and supported configurations

    Swap warranty service

Your HP Limited Warranty may include a warranty swap service. Under the terms of the warranty swap service, HP will pick up the defective unit from your location and deliver a replacement unit of equivalent value directly to you. HP will cover all repair, shipping, and insurance costs associated with this service.

    Response times

Response times depend on the local normal business days and hours during which service is requested. Unless otherwise specified, response times are defined from the time the end-user customer calls until HP either establishes a mutually acceptable support deadline or HP begins support or remote diagnosis. Response times, including Next Business Day Warranty Service, assume reasonable commercial efforts. Response times may vary in some countries/regions and subject to certain provider restrictions. If your location is outside the usual service area, response time may be longer, and additional charges may apply. Contact your authorized HP reseller or HP service provider for response times in your area.

    Service upgrades

HP offers a range of additional support and service options for your HP hardware product, which can be purchased locally. Some services and corresponding products may not be available in all countries/regions. For service upgrade availability and pricing, use the HP Care Pack Lookup Tool at http://www.hp.com/go/lookuptool/

    Software included

Software distributed by HP under the HP brand name or incorporated into an HP hardware product is subject solely to the obligations set forth in the applicable end-user license agreement or program license agreement accompanying such software. If the removable media on which HP distributes the software proves to be defective in materials or workmanship within ninety (90) days of the original purchase date, your sole remedy, to the extent permitted by applicable law, is to return the removable media to HP for replacement. For warranty claims against manufacturers or suppliers other than HP, contact them.

Germany: HP Deutschland GmbH, Herrenberger Straße 140, , 71034 Böblingen
